Parmenides, described by Plato as "Venerable and Awesome," had never been the subject of an international conference until 2007 when an International Symposium was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina hosted by the Universidad Nacional de San Martín to celebrate the creation of the University's Center for the Study of Ancient Greek Philosophy. Co-organized by the HYELE Institute for Comparative Studies and Parmenides Publishing this event brought together the world's most eminent and highly respected specialists on Parmenides' philosophy to present their latest works. This volume contains a collection of the conference papers (translated, where applicable), each advancing the scholar's current research on Parmenides and his Poem, "On Nature."
