THEY HAVE TO PREVENT A WAR – BUT HOW?
WHEN ALIENS FIGHT IN THE HEAVENS

The plot that was discovered in Alexandria turned out to be about turning the aliens against each other to start a war that will destroy the Earth.

Unquill, Kenneth and Savannah have to overcome time and the language barrier in order to prevent a catastrophic event that will deplete the Earth of its atmosphere and will surely kill all of mankind.

Will they make it? Will the aliens listen to these "insignificant" beings? Kenneth and Savannah had just started molding their lives into the destiny that has become their purpose, while Unquill has found a way to prevent himself from turning into the one person everyone fears. Will all this be snuffed into nothing when aliens destroy their world?

EXCERPT
SHE LAY on her back, putting her hands between her head and the ground. She took in a long, deep breath and then let it out all at once. She said, "Tomorrow I may not be alive."

Unquill continued lying on his side, listening to the sounds of the insects all around him. A cricket hopped in front of his face. He did not notice it.

The connections are still active. No one has stopped trying to access the central computer.

"By now, I think you're wondering why your face appeared on the screen as Hinjo Junta, haven't you? I don't know how much information you've been able to gather in the last few days since all this started. Since you are an enemy of humanity, though, I can tell you easily enough. Once the computer comes back online, there will be nowhere for either of us to hide. My crimes will be revealed to the world, just as your location will become immediately apparent to anyone with reliable sources of information. Perhaps I should explain, though."

Unquill, who felt a growing sense of disquiet, said to her, "Perhaps you should."

"We—the organization I belong to—have arranged a series of incidents across the world aimed at a singular objective. It's clear that the Soonseen are ready to fight with each other. Clear, at least, to anyone who has paid attention to the movements of ships in orbit. They have been evaluating conditions on the surface. They have never done so before. It is very probable, judging by this behavior, that they are preparing for their conflict to take place on the ground..."
