《我的北漂日记》是作者叶斌根据自己在北京的生活经历创作而成的。故事中的主人翁"我"只身闯进北京，在一家报社应聘当了记者。因来京时阃短，经济收入不高，"我"便租借了市民王京家小四合院里的一间价格低廉的平房安身。在这个院子里，"我"认识了来自山西的两姐妹夏小凤和夏小雨。她俩没有正式职业，多数时间在歌厅上班。在北京生活的时间里，她俩结识了不少外地的男人和女孩，当然也包括北京的男人和女人。在她俩的出租房里发生了很多很多的故事，其中有友情、恋情、爱情、亲情、一夜情等。通过这些故事，真实再现了当时"北漂族"中一些人在北京工作、生活的现状。(Diary of a Drifter in Beijing is based on the writer's (Ye Bin) own experience in Beijing. "I", the main character in the story, went to Beijing alone, and was successfully employed by a newspaper as a journalist. Since "I" was new in Beijing and was not able to get a high salary, "I" rented a cheap and small bungalow in a small quadrangle dwelling. In the house yard, "I" acquainted "myself" with Xia Xiaofeng and Xia Xiaoyu. They were sisters from Shanxi and didn't have formal jobs. In most of time, they were working in KTV. During their staying in Beijng, they knew many men and girls from other places, including, of course, men and women from Beijing. Many stories concerned with friendship, romance, love, affection and one night stand happened in their rented house. With these stories, the status quo of some drifters' work and life in Beijing at that time was vividly reproduced. )
