"Mrs. Lirriper's Lodgings" is a novella by Charles Dickens, a collaborative effort with other authors. It tells the story of Mrs. Lirriper who, only in the second year of her marriage, became widowed when her husband had an accident on his horse. Now straddled with debt, she has no choice but to find a source of income and she settles on the business of running a lodging house. The novella was first published in the Victorian periodical, 'All Year Round', which Dickens owned.
