A Fairy Tale in Two Acts Taken from Shakespeare (1763) is a play by William Shakespeare. The novels tells two tales simultaneously, a tale of men and a tale of fairies. Five friends Quince, the carpenter, Bottom, the weaver, Snug, the joiner, Flute, the bellows-mender, Snout, the tinker and Starveling, the tailor, discuss a play they are going to stage about Pyramus and Thisby, a couple whose lives end in tragedy. Meanwhile in the land of the fairies, King Oberon is furious with his wife Titania for her taking on her retinue a young boy as her attendant, to the dismay of her jealous husband...
