This was the author's second novel published in 1926. It is set on a farm in prairie country in Canada and has a dark brooding quality to it. In the beginning, the story is carried along by Lucian Dorritt, a descendant of the farmer, William Dorrirtt, as he makes his way home after working away for six weeks. He has many stories to tell but will they get told?
