Profiting enormously from the success of his uncle's bogus medicine, called Tono-Bungay, young George Ponderovo pursues his dream of building an airplane. As the empire of Tono-Bungay continues to grow, however, George is headed for a breakdown as he begins to question the corrupt society that allows his family to become so powerful.
