Assistant Professor of Religion and the Visual Arts at Texas Christian University, S. Brent Plate's teaching and research revolve around "religious visual culture." He is interested in how humans see, how our ways of seeing are socially, culturally and religiously constructed, and how "seeing" is one behavior by which humans make meaning of their worlds.
