Book Reviewer

I'll admit this book sat on my shelf for a few months before I finally started reading it. I thought it was going to be a somewhat dry account of the opioid epidemic. Two chapters in I realized how very mistaken I was. The story is fast-paced and very hard to put down. I finished all 300 pages in a week. I won't include any more details to avoid spoilers, but it is fascinating to see the relationship between Dr. Bolden and the president of the pharmaceutical company develop.

The peripheral characters are all interesting and multi-dimensional as well. Considering what is going on in national politics and given the current opioid crisis, this book is extremely relevant, and is a must-read. The author clearly has a vivid imagination and a natural knack for good storytelling.
