Sarah Beth always dreamed of having a doll of her own but she knew it was just a dream that would never come true. "Besides, I've been living in this orphanage since I was a baby and no one has ever given me a doll or even as much as a hug to let me know I was loved. If only I had a doll of my own I would love her and give her all the hugs and kisses I never got. Oh well, I guess I'll just curl up in bed with my blanket and cry my eyes out like I always have for the past ten years. Maybe someday some nice person will bring a doll to the orphanage. That will be the greatest day of my life," said Sarah Beth.
That day finally came for Sarah Beth. A little old lady that was responsible for bringing fresh flowers to the orphanage felt sorry for Sarah Beth. The old lady got tired of seeing Sarah Beth being teased by the other kids at the orphanage. Some kids would let Sarah Beth hold their doll and make her think she could keep the doll as her own, but they would always yank the doll out of Sarah Beth's arms and say things like you don't deserve a doll because your an ugly little girl that no one loves and a doll surely wouldn't love you either. Sarah Beth just stood there with tears flowing down her cheeks and couldn't understand why these kids at the orphanage would want to treat her so bad.
The little old lady approached Sarah Beth with some good news. The old lady said, "You no Sarah Beth there comes a point in your life when you just get tired of all the teasing and humiliation. I'll tell you what? I'll get you your own very special doll that no one in this orphanage has. Would you like that Sarah Beth?"
Sarah Beth liked what the old lady was telling her so she took the old lady's story hook line and sinker and the moment that doll was placed in Sarah Beth's arm's Sarah Beth and the Orphanage would never be the same.
