Thiruppumunai is a collection of short stories written by the author at the start of his literary career. The authors introduction to the colours and dimensions of the new land inspired him to write these stories. Being from his early works, there are some shortcomings, but overall they are written in an easy, light style, clearly expressing and depicting the attitudes of people in a multifaceted society. Deeply imbued into each story, is a message which keeps the reader occupied and thinking long after the book has been put down.
