《李鸿章传》是梁启超所撰人物传记中最著名的一种。书中没有采取中国传统传记"类皆记事，不下论赞"的写作模式，而是"全仿西人传记之体，载述李鸿章一生行事，而加以论断"，全书在叙述李鸿章生平事功的同时，对于李鸿章之才识、功过、地位等进行了客观的评价。梁启超肯定李鸿章是"数千年中国历史上一人物"，也是"十九世纪世界史上一人物"，并将他与古今中外历史人物(含诸葛亮、王安石、秦桧、曾国藩、左宗棠、张之洞、袁世凯、俾斯麦、伊藤博文等人)进行比较，得出论断："不学无术，不敢破格，是其所短也；不避劳苦，不畏谤言，是其所长也。"本书中既包含梁启超的原著，又包括精彩译本，辅以精致插图，满足不同读者的需求。

(The Biography of Li Hongzhang is the most famous biography written by Liang Qichao.
