Politics was one of the first books to investigate the concept of political philosophy and the starting point of political science studies as we know them. Written in the fourth century B.C.E., it explores how best to create political communities that support, serve, and improve citizens. Aristotle's analysis is wide ranging, examining existing regimes to see which are best, looking at political theories, and even exploring systems of education. He determines that man is by nature political, and that people form political groups because they want to be better human beings. The state should therefore support them by establishing a good constitution and making laws prudently.
