Ian Greig, an officer at the British Secret Service's Berlin station, falls in love with Anna, a young Russian girl when she defects to the West along with her brother. Ian takes a leading part in Anna's training at a Secret Service establishment in England, but the two have to wait some time before they are able to marry. Anna is sent to Moscow, while at home Ian is arrested on suspicion of working for the Communists.
