Winter, 1271: When the beloved grandson of the castle lord, Baron Adam, falls ill he sends for his daughter, Prioress Eleanor of Tyndal and her nurse to save the child. Soon after they arrive, an important guest is murdered. The prioress' brother, bloody dagger in hand, stands over the corpse.
