Loveable Judy Foster leads us through this teenage comedy filled with delightful folly and foolishness. As the title of the show would suggest, Judy spends most of her time talking about, putting together, and worrying about dates. In fact, our telephone-bound heroine’s greatest fear is the possibility of having to face three dateless nights in a row. The broad array of characters including Judy’s family and friends made A Date With Judy appealing to adults as well as to those of Judy’s own age. The show debuted on June 24, 1941, ran for eight years, and was led by the only female director working in radio at the time.
