In a world where people with superpowers called Extras have been a fact of life for 50 years starting in the 1960's, the Extranormal Academy School system ensures that young people who manifest powers have both a quality education and a way to safely learn how to exercise their gifts.

At the start of the school year in 2012, Evey Bloom is beginning her new job as the head of the field office of the Athena Program at Summit Academy in Akron, OH, where she will head up a team of superpowered protectors who are vowed to protect the student body from outside Extra threats.

This proves to be necessary immediately, as someone with the ability to move the earth itself attacks campus.

With a new team, a new school, and a new staff, Evey must find a way to keep the student body safe. If she doesn't, the cost could be catastrophic, and she has precious little time to make it happen.
