Cecil Louis Troughton Smith (1899-1966) wrote his novel "The African Queen" in 1935, using the pseudonym C. S. (Cecil Scott) Forester. "The African Queen" tells the story of an Englishwoman, who is the companion and housekeeper of her brother Samuel, an Anglican missionary in German-colonized Tanganyika (present-day Tanzania). When World War I begins and her brother dies, she gets to know the mechanic and skipper of the steamboat 'African Queen', Charlie Allnutt, and after a while, falls in love with him.
