There are several factors that contribute to the development of this inflammatory skin disease.
Including; overproduction of oil by enlarged sebaceous glands in the skin, blockage of hair follicles that release oil and growth of bacteria in the hair follicles. Other factors that can lead to breakouts include stress, buildup of dead skin cells, allergic reaction to bacteria in pores, scratching, certain medications, and use of anabolic steroids.
