Little Lord Fauntleroy is a novel by the English-American writer,Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was her first children's novel. It was first published as a serial in St. Nicholas Magazine from November 1885 to October 1886, then as a book by Scribner's (the publisher of St. Nicholas) in 1886. Little Lord Fauntleroy is a beloved children's novel that made a huge impact on the 19th century public, shaping everything from boys' clothing fashions to copyright law. The book depicts a child's innocent trust, true friendship, and unconditional love. It is a sentimental novel for children. In this book, a little history is mentioned by exposing the readers to the English hierarchy in the early 1900's. The present work is an enjoyable story. The students will be captivated by young Cedric and his friends Mr. Hobbs, Dick and Bridget and their adventures. The book also stresses the importance of values such as love, loyalty, and kindness.
