Le 11 septembre 2001, Brandon, neuf ans, s'en va travailler avec son père au World Trade Center à New York. Sorti de nulle part, et comme dans un cauchemar, un avion s'enfonce dans la tour, semant terreur et confusion. On September 11, 2001, nine-year-old Brandon is going to work with his dad at the World Trade Center in New York City. Out of nowhere, an airplane slams into the tower, and a nightmare of terror and confusion ensues. On the same day in Afghanistan eighteen years later, a battle erupts in eleven-year-old Reshmina's war-torn village. She encounters a wounded American soldier and is called to make a tough decision.

Will Brandon survive the chaos in New York? How will Reshmina's decision in Afghanistan affect her and her family?
