Book Preview: #1 If you want to live high on the hog, restaurants are easy targets. Many of these establishments have a buffet or free snacks served as a come-on to drink more mindless alcohol. If you are really hungry, you can go into a self-service cafeteria and finish the meal of someone who left a lot on the plate.
#2 You can get great food at weddings, bar mitzvahs, testimonials, and the like. The newspaper society sections have lists of weddings and locations. If your city has a large Jewish population, subscribe to the newspaper that services the Jewish community.
#3 You can get a free meal by going down to the docks and getting friendly with a sailor. You can often invite him for dinner on board ship. Foreign sailors are more than glad to meet friends, and you can get great foreign dinners this way.
