#1 I was a nursing student at Tufts University, and I left teaching English to become a nurse. I felt that nursing was the right career for me, but I didn't understand why people would ask me why I left teaching when they heard my story.

#2 The author took a set of vitals on Sean, which revealed that his blood pressure was too low. His father had fallen asleep first, and then Sean, who had been lying in the dark hospital room with his eyes wide open, dropped off to sleep.

#3 When I took care of Sean, I tried to explain to him what happened, but I couldn't explain it in a simple way. I just told him that his blood pressure was low, and that's why he fell. He seemed to find those answers comforting.

#4 When I transferred Sean to the PICU, I never saw him again. I ended up overstaying my final shift and missed out on a celebratory breakfast with my friends. I hope Sean and his dad are still watching movies and eating potato chips years from now.
