Lynn Garafola is a dance critic and historian. She is the author of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes and the editor of several books, including André Levinson on Dance: Writings from Paris in the Twenties, The Diaries of Marius Petipa, José Limón: An Unfinished Memoir, and most recently The Ballets Russes and Its World. She is the editor of Studies in Dance History, the book series published by the Society of History Scholars, and a senior editor/New York critic for Dance Magazine, and her essays and criticism have appeared in The Nation, Ballet Review, The Dancing Times, The Times Literary Supplement, The New York Times Book Review, The Los Angeles Times Book Review, and many other publications. The title of her lecture is “Golden Age of New York City Ballet.”
