Martin Takener and the crew of the distant starship NOVA GALACTICA, together with the fleet of 31, try to save the Yope system, where Nugrou and Qalaak are engaged in fierce battles. The Nugrou try to kill their opponents with spores, while the Qalaak use poison gas. In the midst of this conflict, the AI of NOVA GALACTICA takes on a life of its own.
