The Secret Garden is a children's novel by Victorian author, Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was first published as a book in 1911, after a version was published as an American Magazine serial beginning in 1910. Set in England, it is one of Burnett's most popular novels and is considered a classic of English children's literature. Several stage and film adaptations have been made of this novel. The entire book was first published in summer 1911 by Frederick A. Stokes in New York, and published that year by William Heinemann in London. One of the most delightful and enduring classics of children's literature. The Secret Garden has remained a firm favorite with children the world over ever since it made its first appearance. The book opens the door into the innermost places of the heart, as it is a timeless classic that has left generations of readers with warm, lifelong memories of its magical charms.
