The doctor Alina Cinar goes to Kenya for 18 months in order to boost her career, for which she herself accepts the separation from her partner. She quickly finds a new love there: elephants. She is immediately taken with the grey, good-natured giants. She spends more time with them than in the health centre. Trouble is inevitable. But she pushes it aside, covers it all up with arrogance and lies. When she is guilty of several offences in Germany as well as in Kenya, she lashes out verbally.
